Law students are able to apply for an amazing range of career opportunities upon graduation. Like few other degrees, a law degree opens doors in everything from management and public service positions right through to the traditional avenue of actually practicing law.
Law students engage in one of the most rigorous educational paths and Isaacs believe that you deserve to reap the rewards for your hard work at the end of the degree by finding the best career that will interest, challenge, motivate and above all satisfy you. Even if you are in your first semester of your legal studies, it is never too early to start thinking what type of career you want and taking the steps that will help to make that happen.
No matter what point you are at in your studies, the Careers portfolio aims to provide tools which serve as both an introduction and a step-by-step procedure to help you on the path to your desired career. Events to make this happen include our annual Careers Night scheduled for 22 February 2012 which is attended by many members of the legal profession who are willing to share information with you on how to plan your careers and obtain the perfect job post-graduation. The Careers Guide which is also released on this night is an invaluable tool for every law student containing information from first year strategies to Practical Legal Training (PLT) and graduate positions. Finally, a PLT session will be held in mid-August 2012 where College of Law and ANU Legal Workshop will be in attendance to present their courses and answer your queries.
Should you have any questions or comments in relation to your career planning or anything career related, we are happy to discuss this with you. Please direct your queries to Hannah, our Vice-President of Careers at firstname.lastname@example.org.
